A humanitarian and cultural raid to discover Morocco

From February 18th to 29th, 2024, Aurélien, Quentin, and Victor, with their association Praidator, will be on tour for Nomad Raid 2024, a humanitarian project aimed at distributing school supplies to underprivileged children living in the desert. Titan Engineering supports Praidator as the main sponsor and wishes good luck to Aurélien, Quentin, and Victor! For more information, follow the Instagram page @praidator.europe and @raidnomad.

At Titan Engineering, we have already accompanied the Praidator association during the Europe’Raid humanitarian event in the summer of 2023, and we are renewing our collaboration this year by also setting up collection points in our agencies in Nice and Paris.

What is Nomad Raid?

Nomad Raid represents the latest generation of adventure trips in Morocco, offering a unique tourist, cultural, and solidarity experience to discover the country. Participants embark on specially decorated vintage Peugeot 205s prepared for adventure, covering 4000 kilometers from southern France to the Moroccan desert in 12 days. This adventure traverses the enchanting landscapes of the Sahara and includes a unique solidarity action in favor of children living in the desert.

In teams of 2 or 3 teammates, Nomad Raid tests the drivers’ skills along an exclusively desert route. Speed is not considered, as teams compete for honorary distinctions. Challenges include driving on sand, navigating in the desert, camping in the heart of the dunes, Berber evenings, solidarity action in a Moroccan village, and a closing evening in Marrakech. These rich experiences and memories to take away only require 12 days of adventure!

What is the humanitarian action of Nomad Raid?

As part of its adventure expeditions, Nomad Raid launches an innovative initiative to support the populations of southern Morocco, called “Nomads on Bikes.” Each team is tasked with collecting, repairing, and transporting two or three old bicycles per crew, intended for children who, often forced to travel several kilometers to get to school, use these means of transport. These bicycles are transported in the trunk or on the roof of the Peugeot 205 and are delivered, on the sixth day of the expedition, in a village specially chosen by the organization. The goal is clear: to facilitate access to education for children living in the desert. Currently, many children, especially in small villages far from large cities, have limited access to education. For years, various associations have launched various initiatives to support the education of these isolated families.

At the same time, each team is responsible for collecting and delivering warm clothing, toys, paramedical equipment, and hygiene products. Throughout the year, jackets, sweaters, shoes, bandages, disinfectants, and school supplies are collected in shopping centers, schools, and directly from individuals. The list of solidarity materials is established in collaboration with local associations and selected villages.

The solidarity material is loaded into Peugeot 205s, occupying almost all the space in the trunk, sometimes extending to the back seat, leaving little or no room for the team members’ personal effects. The Peugeot 205s then transport their cargo to the villages chosen in collaboration with the associations. On-site, the material is unloaded and distributed as part of the solidarity action.

We look forward to following Praidator’s adventures in the desert and wish Aurélien, Quentin, and Victor good luck in their Nomad Raid adventure!
